Ingredients 1 cup shortening
2 cups brown sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups sifted flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon soda
3/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup coconut
3/4 cup chopped nuts

ProceduresCream shortening and sugar. Add egg and vanilla. Sift flour with dry ingredients.
Blend with creamed mixture. Add oatmeal, coconut and nuts. Drop by teaspoons onto greased cookie sheets. Bake for 10-12 minutes at 350 degrees.
